Sechenov, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Honorable Physician of  Russian Federation, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal «Annaly khirurgicheskoy gepatologii=Annals of HPB Surgery», member of  Board of Russian Surgical Society (RSS), member of Board of Association of Surgeons-hepatologists of Union of Independent States and Chair of Coordination Committee on Miniinvasive Technologies of the above Association, Deputy Chief of Association of Endocrine Surgeons of Russia, member of Board of Russian Society of Surgeons-gastroenterologists, Deputy Chief of Moscow Society of Surgeons, member of Editorial Board of the journals “Endoscopic Surgery”, “Bulletin of  Pirogov National Medical Surgical Center”, and others, Active member of International Surgical Society (ISS) and International Association of Surgeons-endocrinologists (IAES).

Peter Vetshev is Honorable Professor of  Pirogov National Medical Surgical Center, Chevalier of European Order of  Nikolay Pirogov, has the Honorable Award of the Ministry of health of Russian Federation and Award “Excellence in HealthCare”. 

Peter Vetshev has authored over 400 scientific publications and 9 monographs, including 2 textbooks on surgical diseases and 2 guidelines on surgery of  biliary tract and surgical endocrinology.

Areas of scientific interest: the use of miniinvasive technologies in surgery, abdominal (including cancer) and endocrine surgery, surgery of  biliary tract, mechanical jaundice, surgical treatment of generalized myasthenia and mediastinum tumors, comparative analysis of innovative methods of diagnostics and treatment, robot-assisted endovideosurgery, development of optimal diagnostic algorithms in surgery, quality of life research in surgery.
